What types of events happen at the Champion Center? Who plays at the Champion Center?
The Champion Center hosts a wide variety of youth and amateur sporting events throughout the year, with a primary focus on basketball, volleyball, hockey, figure skating, and wrestling. We welcome approximately 60–75 youth sporting events annually, in addition to showcases, leagues, camps and clinics, and team practices.
Teams from across the Midwest travel to Appleton to compete in events at the Champion Center, making it a premier destination for competition.
In addition to tournaments, we regularly host local organizations for practices and programming, including WI Blizzard, WI Blaze, Heat Volleyball Club, Fox Valley Performance (FVP), Appleton Area Hockey Association (AAHA), and Valley Figure Skating Club. The facility also offers open skate sessions and hosts school field trips throughout the year.
The Champion Center is proud to be the home facility for the Lawrence University Women’s Hockey, NHM Boys Hockey, and Fox Cities Stars Boys Hockey teams.
What is the cost of admission for events held at the Champion Center?
Admission prices vary by event. The Champion Center hosts 60–75 tourism-driven events each year, and each event organization determines its own ticket structure and pricing.
Organizations such as Prep Hoops, RSK Sports, and Wisconsin Blaze may offer different options, including single-day or weekend passes, as well as pricing tiers for adults, seniors, and youth.

Is parking free during events?
Yes, parking is free for all events at the Champion Center. The facility offers three dedicated parking areas, including front, side, and back lots. Street parking is also available during events. For an overhead view of our lots, CLICK HERE.
All vehicles must be parked in designated parking spaces only. Violators may be towed at the owner’s expense.
For convenience and traffic flow, we encourage:
- Parents of hockey players to use the drop-off area in the back lot
- Parents of basketball and volleyball players to use the drop-off area near the front entrance
Do you have a concession stand on-site?
Yes! The Champion Center offers a full-service concession stand that is open during events. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of hot and cold food options, as well as snacks and beverages. To view our concession stand items, CLICK HERE.
We also feature a designated parent lounge for guests 21 and over, where you can relax between games and enjoy a selection of alcoholic beverages, including beer, seltzers, wine, and more. Visit our BADGER STATE PARENT LOUNGEÂ page to learn more.
We accept both cash and card at our concession stand and parent lounge!
Can I bring in my own food, cooler, or alcohol?
Outside food, beverages, coolers, and alcohol are not permitted inside the Champion Center.
The Champion Center offers a full-service CONCESSION STAND during events with a variety of food and beverage options. We also feature the BADGER STATE PARENT LOUNGE for guests 21 and over, where you can relax between games and enjoy a selection of alcoholic beverages.
Both cash and card are accepted at our concession stand and parent lounge!
How do I rent court time or ice time at the Champion Center?

Do you have a Lost & Found?
Yes! The Champion Center maintains a lost and found for items left behind during events. Items are held for up to 30 days before being donated.

How can I use the Champion Center during the school day or on days when there is no school?
Depending on facility availability, the Champion Center offers a variety of ways for the public to utilize the space during weekdays and non-school days.
Guests may rent ice time or court time for individual or group use. Birthday party rentals are also available, providing a fun and active way to celebrate.
We also offer occasional open skate sessions for the public, with admission priced at $7 and skate rentals available for $3.
In addition, the Champion Links Golf Simulator is available for booking. Individuals or groups can reserve a tee time to practice on the range or play a round on more than 100 courses from around the world.
Does the Champion Center offer a field trip package?

Does the Champion Center have Open Skates?
Yes. The Champion Center offers occasional open skate sessions during non-peak times.

What is your pet policy?
Pets and non-service animals are not permitted inside the Champion Center.
Service animals, as defined by applicable law, are welcome. All service animals must be:
- Accompanied by their handler
- Trained to perform a specific service for the handler
- Leashed at all times
- Under control and not pose a safety risk to others
We appreciate your cooperation in helping maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all guests.
Is the Champion Center ADA Accessible?
The Champion Center is fully ADA accessible. The facility features an elevator, accessible entrances and restrooms, and designated handicap parking.
We also offer designated seating areas for guests with disabilities in both the Mary Beth Nienhaus Fieldhouse, the Seasonal Arena, and the Main Rink to ensure a comfortable and inclusive experience for all visitors.
